This year, the Malaysian Calligraphy Association hosted the "10th International Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition", which was also a grand event for calligraphers from different parts of the world to come together in Malaysia. In the morning, Wang Ya, president of the Calligraphy Art Association, and directors of the association accompanied Zhao Changqing, vice president of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and other representatives, a total of 9 people, visited the Stele Forest. They arrived in Malaysia on a flight at around 11 o'clock last night. After breakfast, the "Chinese Stele Forest" was the first place they visited.

‍

The weather and scenery in the Stele Forest this morning are very suitable for experiencing the elegance and elegance of the area. You can visit the park, walk in the Stele Forest, read calligraphy, taste tea and play calligraphy on the spot. They read Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion", Yan Zhenqing's "Manuscript for Nephew's Worship" and Su Dongpo's "Han Shi Tie" very carefully, and appreciated that the carvings of these works presented the original flavor of the works. When one of the guests saw the "Evergreen Bridge" on the guide map, he asked us about the location of the bridge. It turns out that "Evergreen" is the name of Vice Chairman Zhao, and everyone thinks that he must inscribe an inscription for the bridge. Walking along the direction of the bridge to the Bo Yuan Pavilion, pens, ink, paper, etc. were all ready. Chairman Zhao immediately wrote "Evergreen Bridge" to inspire everyone. The calligraphy enthusiasts present also impromptuly wrote some words such as "Farming the clouds and planting the moon", "Ancient rhyme brings brilliance", and "Excellent and extraordinary". The calligrapher's writing style attracted everyone's attention. The people accompanying me and my colleague Yingwei did not miss this moment and captured the charm with their cameras. Another colleague Kang Ling entertained guests from Beijing, Fujian and other places with tea at the Lu Yu Pavilion. Everyone sat and drank tea and chatted.

‍

When we walked to the local Stele Forest area and the International Stele Forest, I introduced the story behind Tan Kah Kee’s works to my accompanying friends: Wang Longhai, the senior arts and craftsman who undertook the Stele Forest project, graduated from Jimei University founded by Tan Kah Kee. He carved the building of Jimei University on the back of the stone stele, which enriched the connotation of the stele. It can be said that the Stele Forest has become a carrier for overseas Chinese to inherit Chinese culture. Along the way, guests walked to their favorite corners to take photos. When we walked to the International Stele Forest, everyone saw the works of Emperor Saga and Master Kukai with their own eyes, and they all praised, "It's rare! These works are rarely seen."

‍

Finally, everyone stayed in the Juxian Tower for a while, allowing the guests to freely offer incense and visit. A guest came up to me and asked me, "Where can I wash my hands?" I took him to the sink in the restaurant, and he smiled and told me, "It's a wash. Where is the merit box?" I felt embarrassed about my embarrassment, so I happened to meet Madam and asked her. Madam said, "There was a merit box only in 588, but not here." This gentleman said that he would burn incense, worship and make merit wherever he went. He had been to many places, and some places had many merit boxes that were not covered properly. Only this place had built them, but there was no merit box. I didn’t know if the park had not been opened yet or if I had forgotten to open it. I could only say casually, “The Stele Forest is a cultural construction that Dato Kuang hopes to give back to the society, so it is open to the public free of charge.” He asked me again, “Datuk?” I told him, “The boss’s surname is Kuang, Dato Kuang.” Once again we find this conversation interesting! The gentleman said again, "This kind of undertaking is not simple, but also very meaningful!"

‍

The work of the Stele Forest Management Committee has just begun. During this visit, we were fortunate to receive assistance from colleagues in the park to make the operation go smoothly. I hope that in the future, everyone can make good use of their working time and participate in the promotion of culture, making our work more meaningful.
