June 1, 2013
On June 1, the 10th Malaysian Chinese Culture Camp "Round and Perfect" was held. More than 500 people from the whole group visited Nirvana Villa·Xanadu in Semenyih and launched a series of activities to "inherit Chinese culture in the Stele Forest".
On the day of the event, the sky was clear and clear. Many long buses carrying the campers arrived early in the morning and marched toward a corner of Nirvana Villa. Holding flowers in their hands, each camper stepped into an elegant and solemn Feng Shui cemetery—the resting place of Chinese education warrior Shen Muyu—without making any noise, and presented flowers one by one. The campers lined up neatly in front of Shen Muyu's memorial monument. More than 500 teachers and campers in the audience raised a cup of tea in their hands to salute and express their gratitude to this great man who dedicated his life to Chinese education in Malaysia. This spectacular scene is silent and joyful. The death of the giant made people silent, but the young campers went to pay their respects in person. This act of commemorating the ancestors was very joyful. As a sage of Chinese education, Mr. Shen can be said to be an immortal model in the domestic Chinese culture and art circles. His calligraphy works are also preserved in the local Stele Forest area of the Chinese Humanistic Stele Forest. This stop before the cultural camp visits the Stele Forest is like the opening ceremony of a cultural journey.
After paying tribute, the campers ushered in the highlight of their trip to the Stele Forest, which was a guided tour of the inscriptions in the Stele Forest, as well as learning about stele rubbing, tea art and calligraphy. After the student executive committee made a brief report, the campers of each team began their "running activities" in an orderly manner. In a relay manner, each team either joined together or took turns to listen to the tour guide of the Stele Forest. In order to convey the inscriptions and historical meanings in the Stele Forest to the campers in an all-round way as detailed and complete as possible, the Management Committee of the Stele Forest specially invited tour guides who are familiar with the steles in the Stele Forest to explain to the campers the famous Chinese steles, international famous steles and local famous steles in the Stele Forest. Therefore, in the beautiful environment surrounded by morning light, shade of trees and green water, the campers listened to the stories of celebrities and inscriptions from various dynasties in every corner of the Stele Forest. Through the display of the inscriptions in the Stele Forest, the campers could more easily understand the evolution of fonts.
In addition to the outdoor fixed-point guided tours and teaching of the Stele Forest, the Management Committee of the Stele Forest also arranged indoor activities for the campers, namely learning the printing technique of the ancients - stele rubbing at the Boyuan Hall and Jiageng Hall in Taoyuan Ancient Town. The stele rubbing commentator explained in detail the various tools, steps and precautions for rubbing the stele, including the origin and historical process of rubbing the stele, and also had cordial questions and answers with them from time to time. The Stele Forest Management Committee prepared various materials for the campers to rub the stele, so that the campers could personally experience how the ancients preserved and collected the ink rhyme of articles in the era before copying machines, whether it was polishing the stone, applying paper, brushing the paper, or applying ink on the paper. All of a sudden, every boy became a little expert in rubbing monuments!
When all the running activities were over, the five hundred campers were divided into two. One group went to Lu Yu Pavilion to learn tea art, and the other group went to Ju Xian Pavilion to learn calligraphy.
For the tea art part, the organizer invited Xu Yulian, director of the Wisteria Tea Art Learning Center, to explain the history of tea ceremony and demonstrate how to make tea. Director Xu told everyone the historical story of the tea ceremony in vivid language, and used tea as a reward to ask questions about the tea ceremony to the campers. The campers responded enthusiastically and raised their hands enthusiastically to answer questions. Learning how to make tablets can be done by yourself, but how can you try your skills after learning tea art? Director Xu then took everyone to a green grassy slope in the Stele Forest on the other side of the Lu Yu Pavilion. Dozens of mats had been spread out on the grass, and tea sets and hot water kettles were prepared. It was noon, and the lush leaves of the bamboo forest actually blocked the scorching sun, allowing only the sunlight to shine on the ground, creating a cool breeze and lush green outdoor tea art classroom. The campers sat on the ground, practiced tea making on the grassy slope, and drank a cup of their own tea. It is really a pleasure to leave the complicated things in the city behind and sip tea with campers on this green grassy hillside surrounded by green water and greenery, accompanied by famous monuments, birdsong and wind.
On the other side, Professor Wang Ya, the chairman of the Calligraphy Art Association, was in Juxian Building, teaching campers to learn official script and master calligraphy skills. Several areas have been set up in the main hall of Juxian Tower, with futon seats placed. The campers sit cross-legged, lie on the ground, or kneel, etc., but all of them hold a writing brush in their hands and concentrate on practicing calligraphy. The official calligraphy works on rice paper are also the same as the campers' various writing postures, showing hundreds of "silkworm head and wild goose tail" postures. The instructor sits at the front, correcting the campers' copybooks from time to time, dotting or circling, carefully instructing and pointing out mistakes, so that the entire Juxian Building is permeated with a strong cultural atmosphere of calligraphy.
After the tea art and calligraphy learning activities were over, the cultural camp held an award ceremony and commemorative group photo at the Juxian Building to reward the campers who had performed well and actively in various activities of the life camp over the past three days, and to capture a precious memory for their middle school career.
